Much of the general population falls into one of these four categories. Some people could care less about cars, some appreciate the fact that their car takes them from A to B every day, there are some who read car magazines and are up-to-date on the latest releases, and then there are these people. Yes, around the world, these people have many different names, from gearheads to petrolheads. They're utterly obsessed with cars and their components and spend their lives traveling from car show to car show to show their support. But we can't help but think that sometimes they take their love of cars a little too far...
A Young Hoosier
Car shows aren't just for adults, you know! Car enthusiasts come in all shapes, sizes, and ages - and this has to be one of the youngest car fans we've ever seen. The young Hoosier apparently loves cars so much that she asked her dad to turn her stroller into the ultimate automobile for this car show, and we have to say that we're impressed. Sure, it's no sports car, but it's still pretty cool.
We bet those wheels can go racing through the car show at relatively high speeds. But let's just hope her dad picked up her shoe before her he rolled her away, as they would have been miles away from it in seconds.
Where's the Dog?
If you've ever been to a car show, you'll know that these shows aren't for the faint-hearted. They're intense, they're huge, and they can be pretty exhausting. And while this guy knew that he wanted to attend the event, it seems that he also knew his own strength and stamina and understood that he'd struggle to walk for such long distances. So, he decided to hire an old bumper car and ride it around the car show. As you do, of course.
Sure, we love this bumper car and its tiny matching trailer. But where's the dog? This picture would be much more iconic with a cute little dog sitting in the trailer, and even better if that dog was wearing some sunglasses.
Steampunk Grandma
Have you ever wanted to have a glimpse into your future? Well, if you're someone who absolutely loves car shows, everything steampunk, and, of course, bagels, then let us introduce you to your future self! This steampunk grandma is the kind of woman we want to be when we grow up, and not just because she has the pleasure of attending car shows on a regular basis with a bagel in each hand.
She looks so confident in herself, even if she spent the whole day getting some strange looks. But who cares when you're chomping away on the good stuff and looking at cars?
The Chevvy Flame Emoji
If you've never seen the embodiment of a flame emoji before, let us present to you Exhibit A! Or should we say Exhibit F? We're going to go out on a limb here and say that this guy is a big fan of Chevrolet cars. And while we're sure he thought the flames on his shirt, hat, cell phone case, storage box, and his shoes (yes, look at those flames coming off his shoes), were subtle, they're anything but.
He definitely stood out from the rest of this crowd at this car show, and we really hope he gets some kind of branding deal with Chevvy. This guy deserves to get paid.
Transformer Coming Through
Many car lovers live by the rule that bigger is better. They want a bigger engine, they want bigger wheels, and they just generally want a giant vehicle to show off at car shows. But we guess that the older you get, the more you realize that bigger isn't always better. That's why this guy decided to debut his mini Transformer truck at his local car show. And we're a little obsessed.
From the bright green colour to the oil tanker on the back that's been sliced in half, everything about this truck is hilarious. And it's fair to say that this guy looks right at home.
A Plus One
One of the best things about car shows is that everyone is welcome. You don't have to be a middle-aged gearhead to attend these things, and people old and young can turn up on their own or with plus ones. This lady decided to stretch the rules even further when she turned up to the car show with her albino opossum, and we just really don't know what to say about it.
We hate to stereotype a portion of the country, but we do have to question whether this car show took place in Florida, because this photo is giving off major Florida vibes.
Hey, Bandit
Does anyone else think that The Bandit looks exactly like Pedro Pascal? While we're all against making remakes of iconic movies and television shows, we have to say that Pedro would be the perfect Bo Darville if it came down to it. After all, he's already practised his role at the car show! And we bet the person who took this photo couldn't believe their eyes when he saw the A-list actor.
The only thing missing from this photo is Sally Field - or another actress down to play such an amazing character in the remake. We wonder who could take on the challenge?
Eyes in the Back of His Head
When you were younger, did your mom ever tell you that she had eyes in the back of her head? Well, you're not alone. And while we realized this wasn't true as we got older, it seems as though some people really do have eyes in the back of their heads! This guy was spotted at a car show, and we bet he turned some serious heads when he strolled by.
Although the tattoo itself is extremely creepy, we appreciate the fact that he decided to keep some of his hair to make the perfect mustache and goatee. It's absolutely perfect.
Car Show Bingo
Anyone who has ever been to a car show will know that these places are full of unique and intriguing characters. The attendees can then be split into various different groups, as seen here by this incredible Car Show Bingo game. You have the young hipsters and their man buns, you have emo kids who have been dragged along by their parents, and then if you're lucky you'll even spot a femullet (gal with a mullet).
We don't know who made up this game, but we salute them. And we also have a feeling that someone was able to yell 'BINGO!' within minutes of arriving at the car show.
Mild Hulkmania
As seen by the Car Bingo game above, it's common to see guys with mullets and wrestling belts at car shows. Yes, you can guarantee that almost every car show will come complete with a Hulk Hogan fan spouting his Hulkmania across the rest of the attendees. But we can't help but think that this guy is only offering some very mild Hulkmania at this particular event. Just look at him!
Sure, he's rocking the general look of Hulk with his yellow clothes and bleached blonde hair, but he just doesn't seem to have the same pizazz or excitement that the real Hulk would provide.
Beep Beep
What do you do when you have limited mobility but want to attend a car show? Well, you fashion your own form of transportation, of course! And that's exactly what this guy did. He decided to build his own vintage-inspired buggy that would take him around the whole car show with ease, while also looking like it could be one of the vehicles on display. We'd say he succeeded, too.
Sure, this vehicle may be a little smaller than some of the others on display, but that just means that he can slither in and out of the crowds to get the best seat in the house!
Take a Seat
Who says you have to attend a car show in a car? Sure, it's probably the easiest way to travel to a car show when you have four wheels, but when you're within the confines of the car show, you probably need something a little smaller that can weave through the crowds while also resting your weary legs. So, we really don't blame this guy for creating this small little vehicle for the car show.
From the looks of it, it was made from an old Coca-Cola vending machine - which is pretty impressive engineering. We also love the old-school drive-in movie speaker on the back!
Hear Me Purrrrrrr
One thing you might not know about car shows is that many people choose to dress up in costume for the big occasion. Most of the time, these costumes are related to their cars and vehicles in some way - so we can only assume that this woman turned up to the car show in a Catmobile! Why else would she wear a skin-tight PVC catsuit complete with a leather whip?
She looks pretty happy in what we'd consider to be a very uncomfortable outfit, so that's all that matters. But we can't help but laugh at the guy's face in the back.
One Big Toddler
If you're looking through these funny car show photos for inspiration on what to wear to your next car show, we'd implore you against an outfit like this. Of course, we appreciate the fact that they looked at the weather forecast, saw that it was going to be sunny, and decided to keep their heads and faces sheltered with a hat. But why is the guy on the right wearing an adult diaper?
He looks like one giant toddler, and we're not sure if that was his intention or not. But at least it makes going to the bathroom easier than ever for him.
Panda Power
You've heard of horsepower, but have you heard of panda power? Even better, have you heard of Panda My Ride? While we're not sure why this person decided to dress up as a panda for this car show, we have to admire the fact that they decided to do so. We know that car shows can get pretty hot and stuffy, so that was probably one very sweaty panda by the end of the day.
Let's also take a moment to appreciate the car that this panda is pointing out. It might not be to everyone's taste, but there's no denying that it's pretty unique.
A New Type of Pocket
Car shows can get pretty busy, which is why carrying a backpack or a purse just isn't very practical. This woman obviously knew that, but still didn't want to carry her packet of smokes in her hand for the whole day. So, she decided to use her natural pocket instead! This puts a whole new meaning on 'cigarette butts', and we can't help but admire her confidence to do such a thing.
While this is pretty handy for her, it's pretty weird for the people around her who can't help but look at the unusual pocket - even if they don't want to.
A New Project
Just from looking at this guy, we can tell that he has a barn full of projects at home. He gives off the air of a general tinkerer and amateur inventor, fixing things together and building unusual vehicles to show off at the car shows. Don't believe us? Just look at what he's riding! It looks like a mixture of a ride-on mower, a cruiser motorcycle, and a hot rod.
And while it looks like it could do with some extra finishing touches to make it remarkable, we have to admire the engineering prowess of this guy. He really went all out.
Abe... That You?
You might have already realized that all kinds of people attend car shows. But what you might not have realized is that former presidents attend car shows, too! We don't know how, but Abraham Lincoln decided to rock up to this car show and check out some of the vehicles on show. And from the look of his face, he was pretty impressed with what he saw. We're not surprised that's the case, of course.
After all, Lincoln died a few decades before the first car was ever invented, so seeing all of those combustion engines in one place was probably a wild ride for him!
Keeping It Tight
If you're thinking of attending a car show, we have one piece of advice for you: wear something that's comfortable. These shows can go on for hours, and you'll spend most of the day on your feet - so you want to wear something that will suit the day. But we all know that comfortability is subjective. And while we can't understand why this guy would wear such an outfit, he was obviously happy with it!
Those jeans look excruciatingly tight and that T-shirt is just a little too short, but if this guy is comfortable in his outfit then who are we to question him?
Zoinks!
While car shows are a lot of fun, they're also a hotbed for criminality. So, we don't blame this car show for hiring The Mystery Machine for the event. No criminal will be able to get away with their crimes with these meddling kids around, after all. But we can't help but wonder where the rest of the team has gone. Perhaps they were too entranced by the variety of cars in attendance.
In all seriousness, you have to admire the confidence of these two people to turn up to a car show in a cardboard cut-out that they're just wheeling around with their own hands.
Prepared for Anything
You can meet all kinds of characters at car shows, from people who have simply rolled out of bed and caught the bus to the location without even brushing their teeth, to people who plan their trip months in advance. We're going to assume that this guy is part of the latter category, as he turned up to the car show in all of his cowboy-esque garms... and a bullet-proof vest?
We don't know what kind of action he was expecting at the car show, but we're here to tell him that those noises are the sound of cars backfiring! It's not what he thinks!
Rock On, Dude
Have you even been to a car show if you haven't seen at least ten people carrying wrestling belts? We don't know what it is with car shows and wrestling belts, but for some reason, these things go hand-in-hand, and this rocker dude knows it. When he spotted any car he liked, he would flop his belt over his shoulder, whip out the devil horns, and pose for the camera.
By the end of the day, we're sure he has a collection of very similar-looking photos. But at least he's consistent and knows exactly what he likes and doesn't like.
Ready to Flamingle
We love it when people decide to dress up for car shows. And by dress up, we don't mean in costume! We mean those people who choose to make the event a special occasion and wear their finest clothes - like this guy who opted to wear his Flamingo suit and matching hat. But what you might not know about this guy is that this wasn't his only outfit of the event.
He wore a different outfit in the same style every day of the show, all with matching hats that finished off the whole look. So, let's all take our hats off to this style icon.
A Hunk'a Burning Love
At first glance, we thought Elvis had risen from the dead and taken a keen interest in cars. But the more we look at this guy, the more we see a mixture of Sylvester Stallone and Gene Simmons thrown in there for good measure. Whoever you think he looks like, we can all probably agree that he was one of the most unusual people to attend this car show - and he certainly stood out from the crowd.
The whole outfit is wild, but it's the cell phone attached to the belt buckle that really sets the whole thing apart from the rest of the attendees. Never change, man.
Catching Some Zzzzs
When you're obsessed with cars and attend a car show, you want to see every single thing the event has to offer. You want to check out every car, you want to shop at every stall, and you want to meet as many people as possible. And there's no doubt about the fact that this can be pretty exhausting - even if you're riding around on a mobility scooter instead of walking.
To recharge his social and physical batteries, this guy decided to whip off his shirt and take himself off to the side of the car show for a power nap. And we don't blame him.
Picking up a Bargain
You'd be forgiven for thinking that car shows were just about the cars. Sure, the vehicles themselves make up a huge part of the shows, but there's so much more to them than that. Full of stalls and stores, car shows are also the perfect time to pick up a bargain and buy souvenirs and items to take home with you. From the looks of it, this guy definitely took the shopping opportunity.
From a deer head wearing sunglasses to countless registration plates, this guy managed to find all kinds of treasure at the car show. We can't help but wonder how he explained all this to his wife, though.
Give Us a Kiss
Some people really love cars. And when we say they love cars, we mean they really love cars. Car shows, magazines, and their own vehicles become their entire personality, and they don't care who knows it. Don't believe us? Just look at this guy! He decided to make his way around the whole car show and kiss all of the cars that took his fancy. And that was a lot of cars.
He didn't just kiss them on the windows or the roof, though. He laid himself down on the floor and made sure to kiss the bumpers of all of them.
The Mullet
Don't get us wrong; we love a mullet. This hairstyle has come back with a bang in recent years, with everyone from actors to singers embracing the short-at-the-front-long-at-the-back look. But while we love a mullet as much as the next person, there's no doubt about the fact that there are a lot of mullets at car shows. And by the time the day is done, you'll never want to see another mullet again.
Yes, this kid looks cool with his mullet. But when that's the 60th mullet you've seen that day, the novelty wears off a lot and it doesn't look quite as cool.
Ruffling Some Feathers
If you were to attend a car show in costume, what would you wear? There are so many different safe options to choose from, but it seems as though some people decide to ruffle some feathers with their costumes instead. Take this guy, for example. He decided to rock up to a car show dressed as a village chief, feathered headdress and bow and arrow included as standard, of course.
But what's really strange about this outfit is the loincloth. We know it finishes off the whole outfit and is part of the overall look, but why is it so small?
Matchy Matchy
What we love about car shows is that there are so many different cars out there. From heavily modified modern cars to vintage rollers, there are so many eras of the vehicle world to explore. And judging by this photo, we have a feeling that these people prefer older cars - especially as it gives them a chance to whip out their favorite vintage clothes! They look pretty awesome, actually.
From the hats to the long socks and the beautiful red coat, this couple look like they were made to live during the era of these cars. And we bet they wish they did, too.
Fries, Anyone?
Car shows are full of cool people, but we don't think anyone can be as cool as this guy. Just look at this guy! He oozes confidence and looks so comfortable in his skin, even if people give him strange looks as they go past. But we love everything about this photo, from his outfit and his giant car to the smaller replica car that he has by his side.
But what we love most about this tiny replica car is the fact that it's the perfect table for his coffee, burger and fries! That's the way to eat like a king.
A Gearhead's Facemask
Okay, so this photo wasn't technically taken at a car show, but there was no way that we couldn't include it in this list. After all, car people are wild - and this guy is one of the wildest of the bunch. He decided that instead of wearing a normal facemask to the grocery store, he was going to take his car apart and wear the parts on his face like a respirator.
This looks like something out of the film Alien, and we're not sure how we feel looking at this photo. But one thing we do know is that we've never seen anything like it.
Thank You Very Much
No car show would be complete without Elvis, right? We're not sure what Elvis has to do with cars, but you can guarantee that at every car show around the world, you'll find someone dressed up as Elvis. In fact, many car shows have a tradition whereby someone dressed as Elvis marries a woman dressed up as Marilyn Monroe at the end of the event - and they do this every year without fail.
This guy went all out with his Elvis outfit, too. From the big hair to the white boilersuit covered in rhinestones, this guy is a dead ringer for the King of Rock and Roll.
Ay Ay, Captain
Have you ever wondered what happened after the Pirates of the Caribbean movies? Well, it seems as though Captain Jack Sparrow has continued his adventures around the globe, and this has taken him to some of the biggest car shows in the business. And while we'd take him for more of a modern car guy, it seems as though he prefers vintage vehicles over the more modern sports cars. Who knew?
Either that, or he's just not sure what he's looking at and he's a bit confused as to why there's a weird piece of metal standing next to him. It's hard to tell with ol' Jack.
Browsing the Show
Hang on... is this the brother of the other guy with the eyes in the back of his head? If so, we can only assume that this man is the older brother of that guy, as he seems to have a bit more facial hair. Unlike his younger brother, this man even has some eyebrows for the eyes on the back of his head - and we don't know whether to be impressed or terrified.
Would you get this tattoo? It would certainly be a good way to confuse other drivers on the road when you've got the top down, which would be pretty handy.
Mr. Tin Man
We always thought that the Tin Man lived happily ever after in Oz when the movie came to an end, but it seems as though he decided to check out the human world instead. It looks as though he still has a lot to learn about humans and car shows, though, as he decided to turn up to this car on two wheels rather than four! We'll let it slide, though.
This costume is one of the most bizarre costumes we've seen at a car show, and we dread to think how long it took this guy to get that silver paint off his face.
Mullet Level 1000
We've seen some very impressive mullets on this list, and we have to say that the unique hairstyle is growing on us. And if you were to attend a car show, the mullet would be as normal as anything - which is probably why this kid felt confident enough to rock the look while he attended this car show with his dad. They even wore matching T-shirts for the occasion as they were so excited.
With this young man's blonde hair and his cool-guy aura, he's the perfect candidate to help win the world over to the mullet. Before you know it, you won't be able to walk down the street without seeing at least 10 mullets pass you by.
Let's Ride
If you're not familiar with chaps, they're the pants that this guy is wearing. These cowboy pants cover his jeans and offer us a little glimmer of denim underneath, and they're pretty cool. But while we love chaps as much as the next person (who really loves chaps), we can't help but wonder why this guy chose this particular outfit to attend the car show. After all, cowboys are known for riding horses... not vintage of classic cars.
But what do we know, hey? Maybe this guy has filled his ranch with a whole collection of cars rather than animals, and sees himself as a joyrider rather than a horse rider.
The Matrix
Many people have a general idea in their heads of what a gearhead looks like. As seen on this list, many of them have mullets! But they're not the only ones who love cars and attend car shows, as proven by this picture here. Sure, you don't often get emo goths raging about the engine in a Corvette, but that doesn't mean that it doesn't happen! In fact, these goths love their cars.
They even decided to wear their favorite Matrix-inspired outfits for the event as it was such a special occasion. And while these outfits aren't loved by everyone, at least they were protected if the heaven's opened!
Dressed to the Nines
We love seeing the clothes people choose to wear to car shows. You really do get a whole range of people and wardrobes attend these events, and they're all different in their own way. Take this guy and his friend, for example. They look like they're going to two completely different events - and weirdly neither of them we'd think were car shows! But these were the outfits they chose for the day, and we respect their decision to showcase their unique personalities with these clothes.
We particularly love the outfit of the guy on the left. From the beige roll-neck sweater to the pants that are tucked into the long boots, it's certainly a look that only a few can pull off. And he's definitely one of them!
